Squash section
Squash is a popular and well supported sport ranging from juniors to adults and from beginners to an England O. 55 representative.
Facilities
There are 5 squash courts.
The show court has a glass back wall so you can watch a game from the bar area while relaxing in the company of others and enjoying a drink.
The fees for playing offer excellent value for money.
Club night
There is a vibrant club night on Wednesdays between 7.00pm to 9.00pm, which is free. Players of all abilities are more than welcome at club night. It is a great way to meet new and established players and gain an introduction to the centre.
Tournaments
There are 4 yearly tournaments that cater for all members:
- The Centre Championships.
- The Centre Handicapped Championships.
- The Terry Mac Handicapped Championships [a tribute to a former member, raising money for local charities].
- The Christmas Handicapped Team Championships [Teams consist of 3 men, a lady & a junior].
Internal Leagues
There are 10 internal leagues of 5 players [2 promoted and 2 demoted] that run on a monthly cycle throughout the year.
Team Squash
There is plenty of opportunity for players to become involved in team squash. The Centre has a team in the Worcestershire league for more experienced players while players new to team squash can gain their spurs in the Herefordshire league. Many of the teams in the latter are based at the Centre.
